Our History

• Yeary Broadcasting Inc. was founded in 1981 when radio station WXLZ AM 1140 was licensed by the F.C.C. to serve St. Paul and Castlewood. Owner/General Manager Lannis Yeary and Office Manager Wilma Kiser were among founding staff members. WSPC served Russell and Wise Counties until 1991,when Yeary Broadcasting was granted WXLZ 107.3 FM in Lebanon. At that time 1140 WSPC became 1140 WXLZ . 107.3 WXLZ is located in the Russell County industrial park in Lebanon Va., programming Today's Country and Your All- Time Favorites from the 70's & 80's...Rick Artrip, Ryland Sutherland, Anthony Stevens, Darcy Clark and Jerry Walker make up the 107.3 personalities.
  
  

• WXLZ AM 1140 continues to operate from the original studio on Rt. 65 in Castlewood, featuring southern gospel and Today's Country with All- Time Favorites. It also features Tradewinds, a call in classified radio show, with items for sale or trade. Sunday on AM 1140 WXLZ is reserved for local religious programming.
